Installing pull up bar onto non standard stud spacing
If your stud spacing is not the standard 16″ on center or you would prefer to have your bar facing against the flow of your studs, you can always manipulate your install stringing 2X4’s or 2X6’s as pictured across your existing studs. We recommend using 5/16″ X4″ stainless steel lag screws countersunk for cleanliness.
Another option is to have the bar shortened and the threaded end cap re-welded back on to fit your stud spacing. If you choose this option be sure to make the bar 2″ longer than your center to center stud spacing to account for insertion into each bracket. Example: If your studs are 40″ apart the bar would need to be 42″ for the 8 mounting holes to line up at 40″
